Russian troops attacked Ukraine's gas transportation infrastructure with strike drones tonight, August 21, according to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

"On the night of August 20-21, during a Russian air strike, one of Ukraine's gas transportation system facilities was hit," the Ministry of Energy said.

Specialists are assessing the damage caused by the Russians. Thanks to the actions of the personnel, it was possible to localize the damage.

Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy sector

Recently, the Russians have intensified their strikes with drones and various types of missiles on gas transportation infrastructure.

On the night of August 19, Russia carried out a massive strike on the Poltava region. Hits were recorded in the Kremenchuk and Lubny districts, where administrative buildings of energy companies were damaged.

On that day, Russia carried out another attack on the oil refining and gas infrastructure of the Poltava region with cruise missiles and strike drones.

In addition, in early August, Russia attacked a gas transportation infrastructure facility near the border with Romania with dozens of drones. Gas from the United States and Azerbaijan was supplied to Ukraine through this station.
