"Rescuers from the State Emergency Service came under repeated Russian rocket fire while clearing up the aftermath of a previous Russian strike. A fire truck was damaged. Fortunately, the emergency workers were not injured," the State Emergency Service reports.

Over 140 rescuers arrived at the scene of the Russian strike, and over 40 units of equipment were involved. All fires in the Poltava region have been extinguished.

The service also reports that, in general, energy infrastructure facilities, industrial enterprises, and private households in the region have been damaged by hits and debris.

In several communities, windows were broken, roofs and power lines were damaged.

Russia often fires on the State Emergency Service of Ukraine employees

Russia has repeatedly attacked units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, both during firefighting operations and at their locations.

For example, recently in the Kyiv region, Russian forces struck rescuers while they were working to extinguish a fire in Kyiv at a parking lot that had broken out during a previous Russian strike.

Russia also attacked the SESU unit in Kramatorsk. At that time, rescuers arrived to deal with the aftermath of the previous Russian strike.

There were also reports of Russian strikes on rescuers on their professional holiday - in the Donetsk region, Russia struck the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on Rescuer's Day. On the same day, Russia attacked rescuers in the Chernihiv region.
