Russian forces attacked Ukraine overnight on February 7 with more than 400 drones and around 40 missiles of various types. The main targets were the power grid, generation facilities, and distribution substations, according to a Telegram post from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Rescue and repair work is underway wherever the security situation allows. Over 400 drones and about 40 missiles of various types were used in this attack. The main targets were the power grid, generation facilities, and distribution substations. Damage has been recorded in Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, and Rivne regions," Zelenskyy said.

He added that in Rivne, a residential building was damaged, and in Ladyzhyn, Vinnytsia region, drones struck the administrative building of an agricultural college.

There were also strikes in Kyiv and Kharkiv regions. Air defense forces continue to operate in some areas.

The president emphasized that Russia could choose diplomacy every day but instead continues to carry out new attacks.

"It's important that all parties supporting the trilateral talks respond. Moscow must be denied the ability to pressure Ukraine with cold. For this, we need missiles for Patriot, NASAMS, and other systems. Every shipment helps us get through this winter," Zelenskyy said.

Attack on Ukraine on February 7

On the night of February 7, Russia carried out another combined attack on Ukraine, using strategic aviation, cruise missiles, and strike drones. Several regions recorded destruction, casualties, and large-scale emergency power outages.

The western regions were hit hardest. Missiles were recorded at least in Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv regions.

Additionally, Russian forces carried out a massive strike on key elements of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, targeting main substations, power lines, and thermal power plants. Ukraine has requested emergency assistance from Poland to stabilize the system.
