Russia strikes two Ukrainian regions: 6 killed, 15 injured

As a result of Russian shelling in the Kherson and Donetsk regions, at least six civilians were killed and more than ten injured, according to the regional prosecutor’s offices of Kherson and Donetsk.
Attack on the Kherson region
According to investigators, today, Russian forces attacked populated areas in the Kherson region using artillery, mortars, and drones.
As of 5:30 p.m., it was confirmed that 10 civilians had been injured and three killed.
"Two men were killed in an artillery strike on Kherson. Another person died after an explosive device was dropped from a UAV," the prosecutor’s office reported.
Also, six people sustained injuries of various severity in the regional center. Two others were wounded in Bilozerka, and one each in the villages of Havrylivka and Kachkarivka.
Residential buildings and a medical facility were damaged as a result of the strikes.
Attack on the Donetsk region
Today, the Russian army shelled the private sector of Pokrovsk. A 59-year-old resident of the town, who was in his household, sustained shrapnel wounds. The type of weapon used is currently being determined.
Shortly afterward, the Russian forces struck the village of Stepanivka with a Smerch multiple rocket launcher system. A 65-year-old woman was diagnosed with a blast injury, a laceration, and abrasions.
In addition, the Russian forces shelled Kostiantynivka with tube artillery. A 51-year-old man was killed in his home. Another civilian was also injured as a result of a strike by the enemy army, allegedly using the Smerch multiple rocket launcher system. She was hospitalized with a blast injury and shrapnel wounds.
Later in the evening, the Russian army dropped a FAB-250 bomb equipped with a Universal Gliding and Correction Module on Rodynske. An 85-year-old man sustained fatal injuries. Two women were diagnosed with blast trauma, a closed fracture, and shrapnel wounds.
Meanwhile, at least 17 private homes, 18 apartment buildings, 30 garages, and a tractor were damaged in the affected settlements.
Attack on Ukraine on May 23
Throughout the night, the Russian army launched drones toward Ukraine from several directions.
Ukrainian air defense forces worked overnight to repel the attack. According to reports, Russian drones reached even the western regions of Ukraine during the night of May 23.
In particular, enemy drones struck a railway facility in the Chernivtsi region. Russian forces also attacked the Ivano-Frankivsk region, where damaged buildings and vehicles were reported in the Kolomyia district.
At the same time, the Poltava region faced a massive drone attack. A direct hit and falling debris in the Kremenchuk community destroyed a building belonging to one of the local enterprises.
