On the morning of April 7, Russians attacked the building of the State Tax Inspectorate in the center of the border town of Novhorod-Siverskyi in Chernihiv region, according to Oleksandr Seliverstov, head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional State Administration.

"On April 7, 2026, Russia carried out yet another act of aggression against civilian infrastructure in the border region," the head of the Regional Military Administration reports.

According to him, at around 9:30 a.m. Kyiv time, a Russian drone was recorded striking the center of Novhorod-Siverskyi. The strike by an unidentified drone hit the State Tax Inspection building.

The blast wave damaged the facades of nearby residential buildings and private vehicles.

Information regarding casualties is currently being verified. Emergency services and law enforcement are on the scene.

Russian strikes on Ukraine on April 7

This morning, Russian drones attacked the city of Pryluky in the Chernihiv region. The city council building was hit.

According to an RBC-Ukraine correspondent, residents heard the first explosions around 10:08 a.m. In total, at least three powerful explosions were heard.

The city council building is located in the very center of the city, at a busy intersection where there are usually many people.

On April 7, Russians attacked a passenger bus in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region. A drone carried out the strike during rush hour, when people were commuting to work.

3 people were killed in the Russian attack, and another 16 were injured to varying degrees, including some in critical condition.
