Russia strikes Sumy region overnight: Six drone hits and damaged infrastructure

Russia launched a kamikaze drone attack on the Sumy region overnight. Six strikes were recorded in the Shostka community, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reports.
In the early hours of May 19, the Sumy region once again came under enemy fire. Russian forces carried out a treacherous attack using kamikaze drones.
According to preliminary information, at least six drone strikes were recorded in the Shostka community.
Due to the attack, infrastructure at one of the local enterprises was damaged.
According to the Regional Military Administration, emergency and rescue services are working at the scene. Cleanup efforts are underway, and the extent of the damage is being assessed.
Local authorities reported that a 44-year-old security guard at the targeted enterprise in the Shostka community was injured in the drone strike.
In addition, four residential buildings in the community sustained damage.
Another injured person was reported in the Esman community - a 47-year-old local resident was wounded.
Both men have been hospitalized and are receiving the necessary medical assistance.
Russian strike on Sumy
On May 14, air raid sirens were activated in several regions of Ukraine due to the threat of a Russian ballistic missile strike. During the alert, an explosion sounded in Sumy.
Later, acting Sumy Mayor Artem Kobzar stated that the explosion was caused by a Russian strike on an industrial infrastructure facility.
At the same time, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that there were casualties from the attack, although the exact number was not disclosed.
On May 6, Russian troops launched a ballistic missile at the outskirts of Sumy. The strike killed three people, including a child. Eight others were injured, among them four children.
