Russia strikes senior center near Kherson, medical workers injured
Last night, the Russian occupants attacked a senior center in Stepanivka, Kherson district, with artillery. Medical personnel were injured as a result of the Russian shelling, according to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
Russia fired the settlement with artillery around 2 a.m. Kyiv time.
Russia struck the territory of the senior center in Stepanivka (a village that is part of the Kherson city community).
“2 medical workers were wounded,” Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office reports.
After that, a pre-trial investigation was initiated in criminal proceedings over violating the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
“Prosecutors, together with other law enforcement officers, are taking all possible and appropriate measures to document war crimes committed by representatives of the Russian armed forces,” the Kherson regional prosecutor's office says.

It is not the first time Russia has struck this senior center, located 9 kilometers from Kherson. For example, the Russian army attacked this medical institution for the elderly in Stepanivka back in 2022.
On September 19, Russian troops attacked the senior center in Sumy with a guided aerial bomb. At the time of the attack, there were about 300 patients and staff in the facility. As a result of the Russian shelling, 1 person was killed and more than 10 were injured.
