Russian troops attacked railway infrastructure in Chernihiv with a strike drone in the morning. As a result of the Russian strike, equipment was damaged and one person was wounded, according to the Chernihiv regional prosecutor's office.

"According to the investigation, at around 9:45 a.m. today, Russia attacked transport infrastructure in the city of Chernihiv with a drone. As a result of the Russian attack, a locomotive engineer suffered shrapnel wounds and rolling stock was damaged," the regional prosecutor's office says.

Russian strikes on Chernihiv and region

Recently, the Russians have intensified their strikes on Chernihiv and the region with drones and missiles. This morning, October 17, Russia attacked Chernihiv with strike drones. Damage to transport infrastructure has been reported.

On the night of October 16, Russia attacked Nizhyn in the Chernihiv region with drones. One of the logistics facilities and a multi-story residential building came under fire.

Authorities reported that drones hit two residential buildings in Nizhyn, as well as a building housing a store and a Nova Poshta post office. The day before, a Russian drone crash caused a fire at one of Chernihiv's civilian infrastructure facilities.

On October 15, Russian troops struck gas stations in Chernihiv and its suburbs with Lantset drones.

Due to previous regular massive Russian strikes on the Chernihiv region, hourly power outages continue in the region.
