Russia launches drone attack on Nizhyn, aftermath revealed by rescuers

The State Emergency Service (SES) has released photos showing the aftermath of the Russian army’s drone attack on Nizhyn, Chernihiv region, on the evening of October 15, according to the SES of Ukraine on Telegram.
It was reported that during the attack on Nizhyn, Russian drones struck one of the city’s logistics facilities and a multi-story residential building.
The SES shared images showing the destruction caused by the drone strikes.
According to preliminary reports, one person was injured.
All relevant services are responding at the scenes.
Earlier, the mayor of Nizhyn, Oleksandr Kodola, and the head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, reported on strikes against civilian infrastructure in Nizhyn.
Specifically, drones hit two residential buildings and a building housing a store and a Nova Poshta branch.
According to Kodola, Russia is using Shahed drones to target critical and civilian infrastructure.
Attacks on Ukraine on October 15
In Sumy, an explosion was reported on October 15, causing power outages in the city.
Additionally, Russian forces attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region overnight. Ukrainian defenders shot down nearly 40 enemy drones, though a few Shahed drones still hit their targets, resulting in damage and fires.
A 19-year-old man was injured and hospitalized in moderate condition.
The Russian army also struck the Chernihiv region. In Chernihiv, a fire broke out at a civilian facility, and in Semenivka, a drone hit a residential building.
