Russia carried out another missile and drone strike on two ports in the Odesa region, killing one person and injuring five others. Administrative buildings, cargo, and port infrastructure were damaged, according to Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Communities Development Oleksiy Kuleba.

Earlier today, Russia carried out a combined missile and drone strike on port infrastructure in the Odesa region, which plays a key role in ensuring food security for Ukraine and the world.

"One person was killed, and five others were injured; they are receiving full medical care," Kuleba reported.

Administrative buildings, cargo transport, and containers of oil were damaged. All services are working on-site, responding to the aftermath while following safety protocols.

"The ports continue to operate as usual despite the attack," the administration added.

Law enforcement is documenting the traces of yet another crime against the peaceful population of Odesa. Russia is deliberately attempting to undermine the economy and destroy maritime logistics by targeting key port facilities.

"All relevant services are working on-site to eliminate the consequences. Law enforcement is recording evidence of another crime against peaceful Odesa," the Odesa Regional State Administration emphasized.

Russia’s attacks on ports

This is not the first strike on port infrastructure in the Odesa region — previously, the enemy carried out missile attacks on Odesa and other regional ports, attempting to block the export of Ukrainian grain and oil.

Despite the constant attacks, Ukrainian ports continue to operate, providing logistics for domestic needs and international partners.

Local services and law enforcement regularly carry out restoration work and document Russia’s war crimes against civilian infrastructure.

On December 30, Russian forces struck the Black Sea port twice in a single day, causing a fire in a lubricant storage tank.

Also on December 30, Russian forces attacked civilian vessels Emmakris III and Captain Karam with strike drones. In particular, Captain Karam was entering a Ukrainian port to load wheat.

These attacks resulted in civilian injuries. The Ukrainian Navy noted that Russian strikes undermine global food security.

Earlier, it was reported that Russian attacks had damaged facilities in the Pivdennyi and Chornomorsk ports, including oil storage tanks belonging to an industrial enterprise.
