The Russian army has once again struck an energy facility in the Odesa region. This is the fifth attack on the region's energy infrastructure in the past two weeks, Ukraine's major private energy company DTEK reports.

"Russia continues its energy terror against the Odesa region. As a result of the attack, the fifth energy facility of DTEK has been damaged in the last two weeks," the statement says.

DTEK noted that energy workers are working to ensure, first and foremost, that critical infrastructure facilities and homes receive electricity where it is technically possible to do so. The damage is significant, and it will take time to repair.

On the night of March 6, Russian forces launched another massive attack on the Odesa region. As a result of the shelling, two people were injured, one of whom was hospitalized.

According to the Odesa Regional Military Administration, enemy drones struck the energy facility, also damaging homes, an auto repair shop, and cars.

Russian night attack

During the night, Russia launched 112 drones and two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles at Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed 68 drones, and another 43 enemy UAVs, which acted as decoys, were lost locally without causing any negative consequences.

Late in the evening of March 5, Russian forces struck a hotel in Kryvyi Rih, the Dnipropetrovsk region, with ballistic missiles. The attack resulted in four killed victims, and over 30 people were injured.

At the time of the strike, volunteers from a humanitarian organization were staying in the hotel, including Ukrainians, US and British citizens.
