Russia strikes Nova Post office near Druzhkivka, kills 2 people

“Yesterday, October 24 - ed, Russia struck the Nova Post office in Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka in Donetsk region,” the rescuers say.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, other commercial facilities were damaged, including a 260-square-meter fire, which was extinguished by rescuers.

“During the rescue operations, the rescuers found the bodies of 2 killed people and one injured. In total, 2.1 tons of building structures were dismantled. The work has been completed,” the agency states.

Nova Post confirmed the Russian attack on the branch.

“Unfortunately, our colleague, Andrii Smoliar, was killed. Other employees are safe. Another person was also killed and one is wounded, he is currently in hospital,” the company says.

Russian strikes on Nova Post offices

This is not the first time that Russian troops have hit Nova Post offices since the large-scale invasion of Ukraine.

On August 9, during the Russian shelling of Kostiantynivka, the cargo department of Nova Post was struck. An employee of the department was injured.

In June, the Russian occupiers shelled the Nova Post terminal in Kharkiv. At the time of the Russian attack, there were people there. A search and rescue operation was immediately organized. 9 people were injured, including an 8-month-old child and a woman, and one postal worker was killed.
