On the morning of February 12, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles. As a result, debris hits and fires were recorded in several districts of the capital, Tymur Tkachenko, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reports.
"As a result of the enemy attack, debris hits and fires have been recorded in the Holosiivskyi and Podilskyi districts," Tkachenko reported at 04:45 a.m. Kyiv time.
The Head of the City Military Administration also added that information about casualties is being clarified, and emergency services are heading to the scene.
"Please stay in safe places until the all-clear is given," Tkachenko urged.
Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko reported that emergency services had been dispatched to Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Podilskyi districts.
At the same time, Tymur Tkachenko informed that fires had broken out on the rooftops of residential buildings in the Solomianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts.
The Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, also responded to the attack:
"Russia launched a missile strike on Kyiv and the Kyiv region, and air defense was working against the ballistic threat. This is how Putin wants to end the war," he wrote.

"Fires have been recorded in the Holosiivskyi, Podilskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts. In the Obolonskyi district, a fire has broken out in an industrial zone. Preliminary reports indicate damage to nearby buildings. All emergency services are heading to the scene," Klitschko informed
At the same time, the Head of the City Military Administration reported a fire in a non-residential building in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv.

"A fire has broken out on the roof of a nine-story building in the Sviatoshynskyi district. No one has sought medical assistance at this time," the Kyiv mayor wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to preliminary data, one person was killed in the Podilskyi district, Klitschko reported. He also added that a fire broke out in the Darnytskyi district on the premises of a private enterprise.

"One person was also injured in the Podilskyi district. Medics have hospitalized him. Earlier, a body was discovered in the same district," Klitschko wrote.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) reported that as a result of the Russian missile strike, debris hits, destruction across different districts, and one killed victim had been recorded in Kyiv. In particular:
- Obolonskyi district - A fire in an office building, spreading from the 7th to the 1st floor. One person was killed.
- Holosiivskyi district – A large-scale fire in a warehouse, covering an area of 600 square meters.
- Sviatoshynskyi district – Debris hits were recorded, but no casualties.
- Solomianskyi district – A fire on the roof of an apartment building.
"Rescue teams are working at all locations. Efforts to eliminate the consequences of the attack are ongoing," the SES added.

Klitschko clarified that both the deceased and the hospitalized victim were from the Obolonskyi district.

"Another injured person in the Obolonskyi district – a 9-year-old girl. Medics have also hospitalized her," reported Vitalii Klitschko.

Klitschko announced that as a result of the Russian ballistic missile strike, the number of injured in Kyiv had risen to three. Two of them were hospitalized, while one received medical assistance on-site.
"One person was killed in the Obolonskyi district," the Mayor of Kyiv added.
At approximately 04:30, a series of explosions sounded in Kyiv. The Ukrainian military had warned about the threat of ballistic missile strikes.
