Russian forces have once again attacked the civilian infrastructure of Kherson. This time, an apartment building was hit, according to Andriy Yermak, the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, and local Telegram channels.

According to local sources, on April 19, Russian forces launched a drone attack on a high-rise building in Kherson. As a result of the attack, fires broke out in at least six apartments.

Local Telegram channels also reported that, according to Kherson Defense Forces serviceman Ruslan Mykhailevskyi, the drone attack occurred around 5:00 PM Kyiv time. It is known that firefighters were sent to the scene of the fire.

At the same time, Yermak has already responded to the Russian strike on the city.

"The Russians keep targeting civilians in Kherson," he said.

Notably, there is no official information about the exact time of the strike on Kherson, but information began appearing on public pages after 6:00 PM Kyiv time.

Putin’s Easter ceasefire

Earlier today, on April 19, Russia announced a temporary ceasefire for the period of Orthodox Easter, which will be in effect from 6:00 PM, Moscow time, on April 19 to midnight on April 21.

The Kremlin stated that this ceasefire was introduced for humanitarian reasons and emphasized that the ceasefire would only apply if it was "reciprocated by the Kyiv regime."
In response, Ukraine warned that it does not trust the Kremlin’s words due to numerous violations of previous agreements with Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that what matters to Ukraine is not words, but concrete actions from Russia.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha added that Ukraine’s position remains unchanged.
