Russia strikes Kharkiv: Injuries reported and residential buildings damaged
In Kharkiv, as a result of Russian shelling last night, several private houses were damaged in the city's Osnovianskyi district and a fire broke out. In addition, two people were injured in the Russian attack, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
The Mayor informed that people were injured. They are currently receiving medical care in the hospital.
A fire broke out in one of the three damaged buildings.
"Osnovianskyi district of the city came under Russian fire at night. Three private houses were damaged, and one of them caught fire. Two women were injured, both hospitalized," the Mayor writes.
According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, the injured women in Kharkiv are 50 and 75 years old.
In addition, the official says, the fire in the Osnovianskyi district of the city in a private house was caused by the fall of ammunition fragments.
Cars and outbuildings were also damaged.
Russian air attack on Ukraine
As previously reported, on July 7, late evening, the Ukrainian Air Force of Ukraine said that 4 Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers took off from the Olenya airfield in the Murmansk region. On July 8, at 1:41 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force reported a missile threat due to the threat of cruise missile launches from Russian Tu-95MS aircraft.
Later, the Ukrainian military reported several groups of cruise missiles heading toward different regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Zhytomyr. The announcement of the missile threat was made around 3:50 a.m.
Earlier in the night, an explosion was heard in Sumy during a ballistic missile threat alert. An explosion was also heard in Mykolaiv, presumably outside the city. An explosion was also reported in Kharkiv.
