Russia strikes high-rise building in Kryvyi Rih with ballistic missile: Casualties reported
Russian invaders attacked Kryvyi Rih with ballistic missiles. People were injured as a result of the shelling, says Serhii Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
“A five-story building was damaged. We are finding out information about the victims,” he says.
For his part, the head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, said that the Russians had hit the high-rise with ballistic missiles.
“An emergency rescue operation is underway. We are all on the spot. Rescuers, doctors and utilities,” he says.
Vilkul adds that there were wounded due to the Russian attack and they were evacuated to the hospital.
As of 11:08 a.m. Kyiv time, according to Lysak, apartments from the first to the fifth floors of one of the entrances of a high-rise building in Kryvyi Rih were destroyed.
“There may be people under the rubble,” he says.
4 people were injured in the shelling.
“One person is hospitalized. The rest were provided with medical aid on the spot,” adds Lysak.
As of 11:18 a.m. Kyiv time, Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration reported that 2 children were injured in Kryvyi Rih.
“A 10-year-old girl was treated on the spot. An 11-year-old boy was hospitalized in moderate condition. In total, there are six victims,” the statement says.
As of 11:32 a.m. Kyiv time, according to Vilkul, 8 people have been injured as a result of the Russian attack.
“The headquarters for helping people is being deployed nearby, 100 meters away, I'm not writing the address, it's visually visible. We assist with construction materials, utility crews, resettlement, and applications for financial assistance from the city,” he added.
Later, the State Emergency Service published photos of the consequences of the Russian attack on the high-rise building in Kryvyi Rih.

Russian shelling of Ukraine
