Russia strikes at railway facilities near Kharkiv: Head of emergency department and police officer killed
Today, on May 13, Russian militants attacked railway facilities and rolling stock in Budy village, Kharkiv region, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and other sources.
According to preliminary information, five railroad workers were wounded:
- a driver,
- the station manager,
- a station attendant,
- a senior track master,
- and a train assembler.
"Three railroad workers with shrapnel wounds and concussion were hospitalized, and two more received medical aid on the spot. The railcars were damaged, and the fires caused by the enemy strike were promptly localized," the company said.
Kharkiv governor Syniehubov said that two people were killed in the attack. Among them is Artem Kostyria, head of the Kharkiv district department of the State Emergency Service in the Kharkiv region.
"A total of 22 people were injured - 16 men and 6 women aged 14 to 81. Two people are in serious condition, 13 are in moderate condition, and the rest are in light condition," noted the head of the Military Administration.
He emphasized that the enemy deliberately struck two times within half an hour when all specialized services were already on the spot.
In addition, law enforcement officials reported that a police officer of the patrol police response sector of the Kharkiv District Police Department, Senior Police Sergeant Oleksii Koshchii, was killed in the attack.
"This is not the first time Russia has attacked emergency services when they are rescuing civilians. For each such crime, there will be responsibility and accountability - in the courts and on the battlefield," the Interior Ministry emphasized.
Today in the Kharkiv region, Russian troops shelled the village of Budy. Two people were reported dead and more than 20 injured, but the details were not disclosed.
Russia continues to attack other regions of Ukraine. In particular, the enemy dropped a bomb on a bus stop with people in the Donetsk region.
