In Ukraine, as a result of Russia's full-scale aggression, thousands of medical facilities have been damaged or destroyed. Some of them have already been restored, but a significant portion of the medical infrastructure remains damaged or destroyed, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Health.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has destroyed or damaged 2,687 medical facilities in Ukraine. This refers to medical infrastructure that has been damaged as a result of Russian strikes and other combat operations.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine emphasizes that Russian attacks continue to pose a threat to the operation of medical facilities and Ukrainians' access to medical care.

Medical infrastructure

Despite the damage, the Ukrainian healthcare system continues to function. Medical facilities are being restored where possible or are providing care in alternative locations.

At the same time, destroyed facilities require much more extensive restoration or the construction of new medical facilities.

The Ministry of Health emphasizes that the restoration of medical infrastructure remains one of Ukraine's key priorities amid a full-scale Russian invasion.

Context

The Russians continue to target Ukraine's civilian infrastructure. Educational institutions and hospitals are often the targets of Russian attacks. Russia is deliberately striking the warehouses of logistics companies.

In addition, Russians are systematically targeting the food warehouses of Ukrainian retailers. In particular, logistics centers, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities have come under attack. Among those suffering the greatest losses are Epicentr, Rozetka, as well as Nova Poshta, Silpo, Novus, Liqui Moly, Puma, and Intertop.
