Russia's repeated provocations show Kremlin is nervous, Meloni says

Italy has a clear position in support of Ukraine, while Russia’s repeated provocations show that the Kremlin is nervous, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said.
Commenting on Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini’s meeting with the Russian ambassador in Milan, Meloni said the meeting initially involved companies operating in Russia. She noted that there has "never been an absolute ban on doing business in Russia."
"If Italy wants to play a role, it is important that it maintains a clear position. And that has never wavered," she said.
Earlier, the Italian government secretly approved a new package of military aid for Ukraine. The package includes Aster 30 missiles, SAMP/T NG systems and radars.
Previously, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced preparations for a new aid package for Ukraine following a conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
Bloomberg also reported that Germany is preparing for a scenario in which it may have to join other NATO countries in responding militarily to Russia. Germany is currently assessing the readiness of its healthcare system for such a scenario.
