Italy announces new aid for Ukraine's defense and reconstruction

The Italian government remains committed to Ukraine’s security, reconstruction and defense. And it is backing up those words with concrete assistance, according to Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
Italy to provide new support to Ukraine
Tajani announced the new assistance following a conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha.
The minister confirmed that a new Italian aid package is being prepared, in addition to support for EU sanctions.
He also reaffirmed the Italian government’s full support for achieving a just and lasting peace as soon as possible.
According to Tajani, Italy is emphasizing the strategic role of the Black Sea and the entire Mediterranean region in global food security and ensuring uninterrupted grain exports from Ukraine.
"We will continue to work to maintain maximum pressure on Moscow," he said.
Tajani also said he had decided to illuminate the Foreign Ministry building in the colors of the Ukrainian flag as a sign of solidarity.
Earlier, it was reported that Rome does not intend to block financial and military aid to Ukraine for 2027 and remains steadfast in its support for Kyiv.
It was also reported that on July 2, Tajani expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people following a massive Russian attack.
