Rescue operations were completed in Zaporizhzhia after a massive Russian attack on the night of May 2. About 29 people were injured due to an enemy drone strike, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports.

"Rescue operations have been completed in Zaporizhzhia. As of 07:00 a.m. on May 2, the number of injured has risen to 29 citizens," the statement says.

Rescuers freed three people from under the rubble of a building. Earlier, there were reports of the alleged death of a 61-year-old man. This information was not confirmed - the man regained consciousness. The number of injured is being clarified.

Psychologists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine provided assistance to 22 people, including two children.

Drone attack on Zaporizhzhia

Late in the evening on May 1, Russian drones attacked Zaporizhzhia. At one location, a multi-story residential building was destroyed and a fire broke out.

As of the morning, the Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported that 27 apartment buildings, more than 10 private houses, non-residential buildings, and educational institutions were damaged in the city. The Electric Locomotive Repair Plant of Ukrzaliznytsia was also hit by the enemy.

In total, Russia launched 150 drones at Ukraine that night. Air defense forces destroyed 64 UAVs. Another 62 decoy drones were lost locally without negative consequences.
