Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as of October 8, 2025, Russia continues to suffer significant losses at the front. According to updated data, Ukrainian defenders eliminated just over one thousand Russian soldiers over the past day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

Losses of personnel and equipment

The total estimated losses of Russian troops from February 24, 2022, to October 8, 2025, amounted to about 1,118,370 personnel. In the last 24 hours alone, an additional 1,010 servicemen were eliminated.

In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed:

Additionally, 3,841 cruise missiles, 28 ships and boats, and 1 submarine have been eliminated.

Logistics and special equipment

Significant losses in logistics continue:

According to the General Staff, Russian forces continue to suffer losses in both personnel and equipment across various sectors of the front, where Ukrainian troops maintain the initiative and deliver precise strikes on enemy positions.

Negotiations between the United States and Russia have not brought the expected progress toward peace. However, Ukraine's strategy of attrition warfare is beginning to show tangible results. The continuous losses of the enemy and the Ukrainian Armed Forces' ability to adapt swiftly to changing conditions on the front create the prerequisites for a sustained advantage and the prospect of long-term victory.

Additionally, new battery parks are being launched in Ukraine to provide a backup power supply. This will help stabilize the energy system in case of emergencies and reduce the risk of outages during potential attacks on energy infrastructure.
