The Russian army lost 1,430 soldiers and 176 units of military equipment on the front line of the war with Ukraine between May 5 and 6, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to May 6, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 959,500 (+1,430) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 10,766 (+3);
  • troop-carrying AFVs - 22,416 (+5);
  • artillery systems - 27,431 (+61);
  • MLRS - 1,378 (+1);
  • anti-aircraft systems - 1,155;
  • aircraft - 372;
  • helicopters - 335 units;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 35,142 (+145);
  • cruise missiles - 3,196;
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 47,353 (+103);
  • special equipment - 3,873 (+3).

During the night, Russian forces once again attacked Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones.

The most affected by the attack was Kharkiv, where 20 explosions occurred over two hours.

As a result of the shelling, numerous fires broke out, and a shopping center and private homes were damaged. According to the latest reports, two people were injured.

The Russian army also attacked the suburbs of Odesa with Shahed drones the evening before. The drones damaged residential buildings and killed one person.
