Russia attacks Odesa region with drones: Casualties, fire, and damage

Late in the evening on May 5, Russian forces launched a drone attack on the Odesa region. As a result of the strike, one person was killed, there were damages, and fires were recorded, states Odesa regional military administration head, Oleh Kiper.
"As a result of the Russian strike on the Odesa region, several civilian infrastructure objects were damaged, including private residential houses," the statement reads.
Kiper clarified that fires broke out in some areas. Firefighters are currently working to extinguish them.
"The body of the deceased person was found in one of the houses. Additional information regarding the victims is being clarified," the head of the regional military administration reported.
Shelling of Odesa and the region
A few hours ago, Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov wrote that Russian forces are attacking the city with strike drones. Explosions were heard in the center, as well as in the Kyivskyi and Peresypskyi districts.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that on the evening of April 30, Odesa also endured an intense attack from enemy drones. As a result of the attack, many objects were damaged, including residential buildings, with casualties and injuries.
Moreover, it later became known that a railway worker was killed in the attack, and railway infrastructure was also damaged.
"Odesa region and the railway infrastructure of the region were under enemy fire last night," reported Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ).
