From the night until the early morning of May 6, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Kharkiv. As a result of the strikes, fires were reported, and there are casualties, according to the Telegram accounts of the city's mayor, Ihor Terekhov, and the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

"Kharkiv was under a massive attack by enemy combat drones for two hours. During this time, 17 strikes were recorded in the city. The attacks targeted four districts of Kharkiv – Shevchenkivskyi, Kyivskyi, Kholodnohirskyi, and Industrialnyi. Currently, two casualties have been reported," Terekhov wrote at 05:52 Kyiv time.

Details of the aftermath of the attack

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Sinehubov, provided information regarding the details in each of the city's districts.

Shevchenkivskyi district

As a result of the debris from a Shahed-type UAV falling, the roof and a room of a private residential house, covering an area of 100 square meters, caught fire.

Kholodnohirskyi district

The fall of an enemy drone was recorded. A car is on fire. A second UAV hit the ground. A residential building was damaged.

Kyivskyi district

As a result of a UAV strike, a restaurant building is on fire.

Industrialnyi district

As a result of a drone strike, a car was damaged by the shockwave and debris, and a fire broke out.

"Currently, the relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the enemy strikes," added Sinehubov.

New details of the attack

At 06:20 Kyiv time, Terekhov clarified that, according to updated information, Kharkiv suffered 20 strikes from Shahed drones across four districts of the city at eight locations.

The head of the Regional Military Administration published the first photos of the attack’s aftermath and confirmed that the city was attacked by 20 drones.

"At dawn, 20 enemy Shahed UAVs attacked Kharkiv in several waves. The mass attack lasted over 2 hours, and fires broke out at the impact sites. Currently, the fire departments of the State Emergency Service are working to eliminate the consequences of the enemy strikes," he wrote.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office shared a video showing the aftermath of the Russian attack on Kharkiv.

How many were injured as a result of the attack

As previously reported, two people were injured in the enemy shelling. However, at 06:47, it became known that the number of injured had risen to four.

"The number of people injured as a result of the enemy strikes on Kharkiv has increased to four. A 59-year-old and a 44-year-old man also experienced acute stress reactions. Medical teams are providing all necessary assistance," informed Syniehubov.
