Ukraine's Defense Forces eliminated another 1,050 Russian troops for the day. In addition, the Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 4 Russian tanks and 18 artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to May 27, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 983,890 (+1,050) Russian troops were eliminated

  • troop-carrying AFVs - 22,644 (+2)
  • artillery systems - 28,355 (+18)

Situation at front

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in its evening report on May 27 there were 166 battles at the frontlines

According to the military department, enemy assaults and attacks took place in nine of the twelve directions (the enemy did not conduct offensives in the Siversky, Huliaipole, and Prydniprovskyi directions). Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Forces also clarified that the Pokrovsk direction remains the most difficult on the front line.

On May 27, Andrii Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defense Council's Center for Countering Disinformation, said that Russia was amassing its forces in Kursk and Belgorod regions and fighting in the border area of Ukraine, but the Armed Forces were ready for it.
