Since the beginning of May 27 and as of the evening, 166 combat engagements have already taken place along the front. Enemy assaults and attacks are ongoing in nine out of twelve directions (no offensive actions were recorded in the Siversk, Huliaipole, and Prydniprovskyi directions), according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The military command provided an update on the operational situation across different sectors as of 10:00 p.m. on May 27.

Russian strikes

Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have launched 1 missile strike and 60 airstrikes on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and populated areas, using 2 missiles and 94 guided aerial bombs.

A total of 912 kamikaze drone attacks were recorded, along with 3,237 artillery strikes.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 Russian attacks near Vovchansk, Zapadne, Stroyivka, Fiholivka, and Dovhenke. Two clashes are still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attempted to advance twice near Zahryzove. All assaults were stopped by Ukrainian forces.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 24 attacks, trying to push forward near the Serebryansky Forest, Nadiia, Novomykhailivka, Ridkodub, Kopanky, Katerynivka, Yampolivka, Zelena Dolyna, and in the directions of Hrekivka, Hryhorivka, Karpivka, and Novyi Myr. Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 attacks; 6 battles are still in progress.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attacked 10 times near Chasiv Yar, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, and toward Bila Hora, Maiske, Stupochky, and Predtechyne. Two clashes are ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops attempted to break into the position of Ukrainian forces 15 times near Druzhba, Dyliivka, and Toretsk. Fighting continues in 3 locations.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy continues intense assaults, carrying out 53 assault and offensive operations throughout the day.

High enemy activity has been observed in the areas of Zoria, Myroliubivka, Malynivka, Lysivka, Zvirove, Udachne, Yelyzavetivka, Kotlyne, Orikhove, Novoserhiivka, Novomykolaivka, Muravka, Kotliarivka, Troitske, Bohdanivka, Andriivka, and in the directions of Yablunivka and Oleksiivka. One battle is still ongoing. Russian forces also carried out an airstrike with a guided bomb on the settlement of Stepanivka, according to the report.

"According to preliminary estimates, Ukrainian soldiers have eliminated 134 enemy troops in this sector today, 61 of whom were killed. Our defenders also destroyed seven vehicles, one motorcycle, and three UAVs," the General Staff reported.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 attacks in the areas of Kostiantynopil, Burlatske, Novopil, Zelene Pole, and toward Shevchenko. Four more battles are ongoing. The Russian army carried out an airstrike near Novodarivka.

In the Huliaipole direction, Russian forces launched the unguided air-to-surface missiles on Huliaipole.

In the Orikhiv direction, nine battles were recorded. The enemy attempted to advance in the areas of Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, and toward Novodanylivka. The General Staff noted that Ukrainian soldiers repelled the attacks. The enemy also conducted airstrikes on the areas of Kamianske and Stepnohirsk.

In the Siversk, Huliaipole, and Prydniprovskyi directions, no offensive actions were carried out by the Russian army, according to the military command.

In the Kursk direction, a total of 29 combat engagements occurred, six of which are still ongoing. Throughout the day, the enemy launched 229 artillery attacks, including 13 from multiple launch rocket systems, and carried out seven airstrikes, dropping 14 guided bombs.

Earlier, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, said that the enemy was amassing its forces in Kursk and Belgorod regions and was fighting in the border area of Ukraine, but the Armed Forces were ready for it.

Yesterday, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, said that the Russian forces had seized several border villages in the Sumy region. The official added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding the line and not allowing the enemy to advance.
