Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion have exceeded 500,000 people. Over the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 1,140 invaders, 11 armored personnel vehicles and 27 artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As of May 25, 2024, the total combat losses of Russian forces are estimated as follows:

  • Personnel: approximately 500,080 (+1,140);
  • Tanks: 7,650 (+15);
  • APV (Armored personnel vehicles): 14,786 (+11);
  • Artillery systems: 12,929 (+27);
  • MLRS (Multiple rocket launch systems): 1,082 (+2);
  • Anti aircraft warfare systems: 814 (+1);
  • Aircraft: 356 (+1);
  • Helicopters: 326;
  • UAV operational-tactical level: 10,414 (+4);
  • Cruise missiles: 2,209;
  • Warships/boats: 27;
  • Submarines: 1;
  • Vehicles and fuel tankers: 17,608 (+39);
  • Special equipment: 2,104 (+3).

Frontline situation

The Defense Forces are holding back the aggressor in the Kharkiv region. However, the invaders have achieved partial success in the Luhansk region.

Last night, the Russians struck Kharkiv with S-300 ballistic missiles. The attack damaged a lyceum building and an industrial area.

According to ISW, the Kremlin seeks to conquer Ukraine and use its human and industrial potential for a war against NATO.
