Russia's losses in Ukraine as of March 7: + 1,010 troops and 44 artillery systems

Russian military losses are mounting while Ukrainian forces keep fighting back along the frontline. According to Ukraine's General Staff, Russia lost 1,010 troops killed and injured in the past day.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to March 7, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel — approximately 1,272,360 (+1,010);
- Tanks — 11,737 (+3);
- Armored combat vehicles — 24,151 (+3);
- Artillery systems — 38,004 (+44);
- Multiple-launch rocket systems — 1,670 (+1);
- Air defense systems — 1,322 (+2);
- Aircraft — 435;
- Helicopters — 349 (+1);
- Operational-tactical UAVs — 161,858 (+1,868);
- Cruise missiles — 4,384;
- Ships/boats — 30;
- Submarines — 2;
- Automotive equipment and fuel tanks — 81,812 (+170);
- Special equipment — 4,080.

Frontline situation
On the night of Friday, March 6, the Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine struck four Russian air defense components in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
According to ISW, Ukrainian troops recently advanced in the tactical Kostiantynivka–Druzhkivka area in the Donetsk region. At the same time, the commander of a Ukrainian battalion fighting in the Kostiantynivka–Druzhkivka area said that Russian troops have partially restored their communication capabilities to about 50–60 percent of the level that existed before the Starlink shutdown.
Meanwhile, Russian troops are attempting to break through to the central part of the village of Hryshyne in the Donetsk region and are simultaneously storming the settlement from two sides.
