Frontline situation
Ukraine's 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade denied Russian claims that Novoplatonivka had been captured, stating the village remains under Ukrainian control. The brigade released footage showing Ukrainian troops clearing a position held by Russian forces. Supported by an unmanned ground vehicle, the soldiers searched the area and engaged Russian troops hiding there. According to the military, the mission was successful, and Novoplatonivka remains held by Ukraine's Defense Forces.
Meanwhile, Russia remains focused on capturing key cities in the Donetsk region, but heavy losses have slowed its advance. Ukrainian sources say the Kremlin may mobilize up to 100,000 additional troops and could be preparing a new offensive in northern Ukraine from Belarus or the Bryansk region.
