Russia's losses in Ukraine as of July 20: +1,600 troops and 1,769 drones

Fresh figures from Ukraine's Ministry of Defense show continued Russian losses in personnel and military equipment across the battlefield.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to July 20, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel - nearly 1,430,530 (+1,600)
- Tanks ‒ 12,158 (+2)
- Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 24,971 (+8)
- Special equipment ‒ 4,433 (+3)
- Vehicles and fuel tanks ‒ 122,894 (+605)

Frontline situation
Russian forces launched strikes on Kyiv and the outskirts of Kharkiv overnight and on July 19, killing at least four people and injuring more than 20.
In Kyiv, the attack damaged residential buildings, caused multiple fires, and destroyed the UKRTAC plant and warehouses, though no company employees were killed.
In the Kharkiv region, 16 people were injured, with three in serious condition.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces struck several Russian military and oil-related targets overnight, including two tankers and a floating crane in the Black and Azov seas, a Buk air defense system, a logistics bridge, and three oil depots deep inside Russia.
The SBU also reported hitting the sanctioned shadow fleet tanker Avero, with large fires breaking out at the targeted sites.
