During the night of July 19, a ballistic missile struck Kyiv. Damage to residential buildings and multiple fires were reported across several districts of the capital.

RBC-Ukraine summarizes everything known so far about the Russian attack.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, falling debris sparked a fire in a multi-story residential building, which was also damaged. Emergency responders and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

In the Dniprovskyi district, a shopping mall and several vehicles caught fire. A fire also broke out in a dormitory.

In the Desnianskyi district, preliminary reports indicated smoke rising near a shopping mall. At another location, vehicles were on fire, and a non-residential building was struck.

A private home caught fire in the Sviatoshynskyi district.

According to preliminary information, a multi-story residential building was hit in the Solomianskyi district. A supermarket building was also on fire, and emergency services were responding to the scene.

The Kyiv City Military Administration urged residents and visitors to remain in shelters until the air raid alert is lifted.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said that medics hospitalized one person injured in the Russian attack. Shortly afterward, officials reported that the number of injured had risen to two.

"In the Solomianskyi district, debris fell near a nine-story apartment building. Windows were blown out, and one person was rescued from the second floor," the mayor said.

Emergency services continued responding to the aftermath of the Russian attack across several districts of the capital. At that point, two people had been reported injured, both of whom were hospitalized.

Dniprovskyi district

Smoke was reported near a shopping mall. Falling debris also sparked a fire in a dormitory.

Desnianskyi district

A strike was recorded in a non-residential area, and several vehicles caught fire.

Solomianskyi district

A strike in a non-residential area caused fires in a supermarket building and a nearby residential building. At another location, debris fell near a residential building, shattering windows. One person was rescued from the second floor.

Shevchenkivskyi district

Falling debris set a three-story annex attached to an administrative building on fire. More than 10 parked vehicles were damaged, and windows were blown out in a nearby residential building. A fire was also reported in a non-residential area.

Sviatoshynskyi district

Officials received a report of a strike on a private home, but the information about a fire was not confirmed.

According to preliminary information, one person was killed in the attack.

Another five people sustained injuries of varying severity.

What is known as of 6:00 a.m.

According to Ukraine's State Emergency Service, one person was killed and eight others were injured in the overnight attack on Kyiv. Strikes and fires were recorded in five districts of the capital.

Solomianskyi district

Firefighters continued to battle a blaze in an office building. Fires in a residential building and a non-residential building had already been extinguished.

Shevchenkivskyi district

Fires involving vehicles and a three-story building were extinguished. Rescue crews carried out operations to free trapped people. A fire in a non-residential building was contained, and one fatality was confirmed.

Sviatoshynskyi district

A fire on the roof of a private home was extinguished. Four residents were rescued.

Fires at both affected non-residential sites have been contained.

Dniprovskyi district

Fires were reported involving vehicles, a non-residential building, and a dormitory.

State Emergency Service units and other relevant emergency services are working at the affected sites.

Explosions were heard across Kyiv overnight after the Ukrainian Air Force warned of multiple ballistic missiles heading toward the capital. During the night of July 16, Ukraine's air defenses intercepted some of the ballistic missiles and drones, but not all incoming targets were shot down. Russia also launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv that night, triggering a series of powerful explosions and major fires across the city.
