Over the past day, from January 20 to 21, Russian forces lost another 1,170 soldiers on the front line. In addition, Ukraine's Defense Forces destroyed eight tanks, 70 artillery systems, and 1,019 drones, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

Thus, from February 24, 2022, to January 21, 2026, inclusive, estimated combat losses of the enemy amounted to:

Situation on the front

As of the evening of January 20, 120 combat clashes took place along the front line. The largest number of battles was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction.

"In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army attempted to advance against Ukrainian positions 31 times throughout the day. The enemy attacked near Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filya, and Dachne toward Novopavlivka," the publication said.
