The Ukrainian Armed Forces have updated data on Russian military losses since the start of the full-scale invasion, recording a large-scale depletion of Russian personnel and equipment, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to January 6, 2026, are estimated to be:

  • Personnel - approximately 1,215,900 (+1,400)
  • Tanks - 11,521 (+6)
  • Troop-carrying AFVs - 23,874 (+9)
  • Artillery systems - 35,874 (+17)
  • MLRS - 1,596 (+1)
  • Anti-aircraft systems - 1,269
  • Aircraft - 434
  • Helicopters - 347
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 102,074 (+225)
  • Cruise missiles - 4,137
  • Warships/boats - 28
  • Submarines - 2
  • Vehicles and fuel tanks - 73,336 (+112)
  • Special equipment - 4,037.

In 2025, the enterprises of JSC Ukrainian Defense Industry significantly increased the production of weapons and military equipment, increasing output by 50%—from UAH 122 billion in 2024 to over UAH 180 billion, reflecting the active development of the country's defense sector and the growth of opportunities to equip the army.

Against the backdrop of negotiations on a peaceful settlement, European countries are reviewing their plans for military presence in Ukraine, reducing the number of troops and changing the format of the mission. Currently, the UK and France are considering sending up to 15,000 troops to Ukraine, which is significantly lower than the initial plans within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing.
