Russia's losses in Ukraine as of February 20: +970 troops and 76 vehicles

Russia's forces have suffered significant battlefield losses over the past 24 hours, as intense fighting continues along multiple front-line sectors. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 970 Russian troops were killed or wounded, along with the destruction of armored vehicles, artillery systems, and other military equipment.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to February 20, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel — approximately 1,257,880 (+970);
- Tanks — 11,684 (+2);
- Armored combat vehicles — 24,060 (+6);
- Artillery systems — 37,387 (+3);
- Multiple-launch rocket systems — 1,649;
- Air defense systems — 1,303 (+1);
- Aircraft — 435;
- Helicopters — 347;
- Operational-tactical UAVs — 138,881 (+551);
- Cruise missiles — 4,314;
- Ships/boats — 29;
- Submarines — 2;
- Automotive equipment and fuel trucks — 79,112 (+76);
- Special equipment — 4,073 (+1).
Frontline situation
On February 19, Russian troops partially intensified their activities in the Kharkiv region and in the border areas of the Sumy region. The situation remains most tense in the Lyman direction.
Besides, Ukrainian defenders are conducting active assault and counterattack operations in the Oleksandrivka direction. The main goal is to stop the Russian advance towards the Dnipropetrovsk region.
