Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 1: +940 troops and 33 artillery systems

Ukrainian forces continue to inflict significant losses on the Russian army. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, just on July 31 alone, 940 Russian soldiers were killed, along with military equipment worth tens of millions of dollars, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has updated the losses of Russian forces as of the morning of Friday, August 1, 2025.
As of August 1, Russia’s losses in the war with Ukraine are:
- personnel - about 1,054,200 (+940) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 11,068 (+1);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 23,068 (+2);
- artillery systems - 30,944 (+33);
- MLRS - 1,451;
- anti-aircraft systems - 1,203;
- aircraft - 421;
- helicopters - 340;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 49,057 (+163) units;
- cruise missiles - 3,551 (+3);
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 56,894 (+72) units;
- special equipment - 3,935.
Frontline situation
Since the start of today, there have been 124 combat clashes on the front. In the Pokrovske direction, Russian forces attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses 37 times, while on the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian Armed Forces positions 28 times.
Border guards also reported successful counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Sumy region.
For example, recently, the Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated the frontline village of Kindrativka in the Sumy region from Russian army. According to the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, Andrii Demchenko, driving the enemy out of this settlement will allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to consolidate their positions and slow the enemy’s advance.
