Frontline situation

Russia is considering plans to expand buffer zones along Ukraine's borders, including a new potential direction from Transnistria toward the Vinnytsia region, according to Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Brigadier General Pavlo Palisa. Its primary focus remains on Donbas, with possible intensified efforts in southern areas like Zaporizhzhia and long-term ambitions extending to Mykolaiv and Odesa. However, Palisa stressed that Russia currently lacks the capacity to carry out all these plans, urging against panic.

Ukrainian military intelligence used drones to destroy the Slavyanin ferry in the Kerch Strait during the night of April 5–6. The vessel, Russia's last railway ferry in the area, was a key logistics link supplying fuel, weapons, and equipment to occupied Crimea.

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces struck a Russian maritime oil terminal in Feodosia and multiple logistics targets, according to commander Robert Brovdi. Ukrainian units also hit advanced Russian air defense systems, including Buk-M3 and Tor-M2, as well as a rare Zoopark-1M radar in occupied territories. Additional strikes targeted military vehicles, warehouses, and logistics hubs in the Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions.
