Over the last day, from April 8 to April 9, the Russians lost 1,270 troops, 10 armored combat vehicles, and 4 tanks at the front, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to April 9, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 927,580 (+1,270) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 10,576 (+4);
  • troop-carrying AFVs -22,021 (+10);
  • artillery systems -25,912 (+52) ;
  • MLRS - 1,359;
  • anti-aircraft systems - 1,127 (+1);
  • aircraft - 370;
  • helicopters - 335;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 31,973 (+56);
  • cruise missiles - 3,145;
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 43,345 (+118);
  • special equipment - 3,792.

Situation at front and Russian strikes

Over the past day, 135 combat engagements were registered at the front. The Pokrovsk sector remains the most challenging spot on the frontline.

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Ukrainian Armed Forces are keeping the situation under control in the area of Pokrovsk and are not allowing Russian invaders to advance further.

Last night, Russia attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones.

As a result of the Russian attacks on Kharkiv, residential buildings in several districts were damaged, and 20 explosions were heard in the city.

In Dnipro, Russian drones damaged residential infrastructure and the gas network.
