Ukraine updates Russia's losses — and one number jumps

A fresh General Staff's report says the Russian military lost 1,080 servicemembers over the past 24 hours, totalling 1,317,150 troops during the full-scale war. Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed a large number of drones, artillery systems, air defenses, and other equipment of the enemy.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to April 18, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel — nearly 1,317,150 (+1,080);
- Tanks — 11,876 (+6);
- Armored combat vehicles — 24,410 (+10);
- Artillery systems — 40,242 (+82);
- Multiple-launch rocket systems — 1,743 (+4);
- Air defense systems — 1,349;
- Aircraft — 435;
- Helicopters — 350;
- Operational-tactical UAVs — 245,112 (+2,104);
- Cruise missiles — 4,549;
- Ships/boats — 33;
- Submarines — 2;
- Automotive equipment and fuel tanks — 90,194 (+180);
- Special equipment — 4,129.

Frontline situation
During the night of April 17, Ukraine's forces units hit the Podlet and Nebo-M radar systems, command posts, a boat storage depot, and other logistics facilities of Russian troops.
Meanwhile, a fire broke out in Ukraine's Danube Biosphere Reserve following a Russian drone attack on the Odesa region.
