Russia's losses in Ukraine as of April 1: +1,060 troops and almost 60 artillery systems

Moscow's forces took significant losses in the past day, as Ukraine's military said fresh fighting left hundreds of Russian soldiers dead or injured and multiple pieces of equipment wiped out, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to April 1, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel — approximately 1,298,730 (+1,060);
- Tanks — 11,828 (+2);
- Armored combat vehicles — 24,327 (+3);
- Artillery systems — 39,169 (+59);
- Multiple-launch rocket systems — 1,712 (+3);
- Air defense systems — 1,338;
- Aircraft — 435;
- Helicopters — 350;
- Operational-tactical UAVs — 210,896 (+2,069);
- Cruise missiles — 4,491;
- Ships/boats — 33;
- Submarines — 2;
- Automotive equipment and fuel tanks — 86,578 (+219);
- Special equipment — 4,107 (+2).

Frontline situation
A total of 151 combat engagements have taken place since the beginning of the day. The enemy carried out 45 airstrikes, dropping 145 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russia launched 2,611 attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.
Yesterday, Russian forces attacked Nikopol with a strike drone, damaging five-story residential buildings and shops in the city. A car was also destroyed by fire. As a result of the attack, 11 people were injured.
In addition, Russia attacked the railway station in Sloviansk, injuring four workers of the locomotive depot. Four employees of the locomotive depot were injured; one worker is in serious condition.
