Russia's losses as of August 16: 650 troops, 17 cruise miissiles and 11 tanks
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff, As of the morning of Wednesday, August 16, Russia's casualties in the ongoing war in Ukraine have surged to 650 soldiers, with a total tally of 255,570 military personnel affected since the commencement of the invasion. Additionally, Ukrainian Armed Forces have successfully eliminated 11 tanks and 17 cruise missiles.
The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.22 to 15.08.23 were approximately:
- personnel ‒ about 255570 (+650) persons were liquidated,
- tanks ‒ 4324 (+11),
- APV ‒ 8380 (+10),
- artillery systems – 5152 (+24),
- MLRS – 714 (+0),
- anti-aircraft warfare systems ‒ 485 (+3),
- aircraft – 315 (+0),
- helicopters – 314 (+0),
- UAV operational-tactical level – 4248 (+6),
- cruise missiles ‒ 1404 (+17),
- warships / boats ‒ 18 (+0),
- vehicles and fuel tanks – 7614 (+30),
- special equipment ‒ 773 (+4).
Frontline situation
According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions. They are consolidating their positions on achieved frontlines and actively engaging in counter-battery measures.
Furthermore, analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) have reported advancements by the Defense Forces in the Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia directions.
