On the night of June 8, the Grushovaya oil transshipment depot in Novorossiysk, one of the largest in the Caucasus, was attacked. A massive fire broke out at the facility, according to OSINT sources.
What was attacked
The Grushovaya oil transshipment depot is part of the Sheskharis offshore oil terminal in the port of Novorossiysk, an enterprise of JSC Chernomortransneft (Transneft). It is the largest oil storage facility in the Caucasus.
The terminal’s throughput capacity is up to 75 million tons of oil and petroleum products per year.
Under normal operating conditions, it handles shipments of approximately 700,000 barrels per day.

Scale of fire
Following a series of drone strikes, a massive fire broke out at the facility; residents are posting photos and videos showing thick smoke rising above the oil depot. According to monitoring channels, the fire is intensifying.
Novorossiysk is not the first target in recent days. On Saturday, June 6, an oil depot caught fire in Ust-Labinsk following a drone attack. In late May, Reuters reported that virtually all major oil refineries in central Russia had completely halted or significantly reduced fuel production due to large-scale attacks by Ukrainian drones.
On the night of June 3, the Ukrainian Defense Forces also struck ships and infrastructure facilities in the port of Kronstadt in the Leningrad region.
