Russia's Kalibr missile carriers in Black Sea: Number and possible salvo
Russia continues to keep Kalibr cruise missile carriers in the Black Sea, keeping the further threat of missile strikes against Ukraine, the Ukrainian Navy reports.
As of 6:00 a.m., Kyiv time, on November 20, six ships have been recorded in the Black Sea. All of them are Kalibr carriers with a total salvo capacity of up to 23 missiles.
At the same time, there are no enemy ships in the Sea of Azov. However, there are Russian vessels in the Mediterranean Sea. Today, the Ukrainian military reported three Kalibr carriers in the area, with a combined salvo capacity of up to 24 missiles.
The Ukrainian Navy also noted that over the past day, several vessels of the aggressor state, the Russian Federation, passed through the Kerch Strait:
- into the Black Sea: eight ships, three of which continued their movement toward the Bosphorus Strait;
- into the Sea of Azov: seven ships, one of which came from the Bosphorus Strait.
"The Russian Federation continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), 1974, by disabling automatic identification systems," the Ukrainian military added.
As reported yesterday, Russia increased the number of Kalibr carriers in the Black Sea, as previously there had been fewer of them. Today, the number of enemy vessels remains the same as on November 19, although their salvo capacity has changed from 23 missiles to 24.
