Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has been going on for as long as Nazi Germany's war against the USSR. With this, he emphasized the scale and exhausting nature of the current confrontation.

According to the head of state, the current conflict is not just a regional war, but a large-scale historical confrontation.

"Russia's war against Ukraine has been going on for as long as the Nazis' war against the USSR," Zelenskyy emphasizes.

He stresses that Moscow is deliberately prolonging the fighting, betting on the exhaustion of Ukraine and its allies.

"This is a war of attrition in which Russia is trying to break our state through its duration and cruelty," the President says.

Zelenskyy also stresses that Ukraine is fighting not only for its own independence today, but also for the security of all of Europe, just as the peoples of the world once united against Nazism.

He calls on partners to maintain their support for Ukraine, as it will determine whether Russia can achieve its goals by prolonging the war.

Zelenskyy's night address

Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that in some communities of Ukraine, the situation with electricity and heat supply remains critical, and the harsh winter only complicates the situation.

According to him, throughout the day, he receives regular reports from Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, members of the government, and the Office of the President on the situation in the regions.

The main focus, as noted by the head of state, is on restoring damaged infrastructure, stabilizing the electricity supply, and ensuring heating.

Zelenskyy also recalled that after Russian strikes on critical infrastructure in many regions, the situation remains tense.

He stressed that Russia deliberately waited for severe frosts to strike and use the cold as a tool of terror against the civilians in Ukraine.
