Russia's FM Lavrov and US Secretary of State Rubio discuss new round of Ukraine-Russia talks

Representatives of Russia and the United States held a phone conversation during which they discussed the next round of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations in Istanbul, according to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the Russian ministry, today there was a phone call between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
During the conversation, Lavrov briefed Rubio on the progress of implementing the agreements made by Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump on May 19. Rubio was also informed about the Russian side's preparation of specific proposals for the upcoming round of direct Russian-Ukrainian negotiations in Istanbul.
Today, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Russia will not hand over its version of the memorandum on a peaceful settlement in Ukraine to the United States.
Russia's ceasefire memorandum
The outcome of the Ukraine-Russia talks in Istanbul on May 16, as well as the conversation between Putin and Trump, was Russia's promise to present a memorandum with proposals for a future peace treaty, including possible timelines for ending the war.
Today, it became known that the Russian Federation has proposed to Ukraine to hold a second round of ceasefire negotiations on Monday, June 2, in Istanbul.
