Russia is under a large-scale attack by strike drones. The infrastructure in the Smolensk and Tver regions is under attack, according to the Governor of the Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin, and the Telegram channel Pul69.

In the Smolensk region, drones are attacking civilian infrastructure, and one drone has been shot down.

In various districts of the Smolensk region, civilian facilities have been subjected to a massive drone attack. Currently, the anti-aircraft defense and electronic warfare systems of the Russian Ministry of Defense are working to destroy them.

"According to preliminary information, one of the drones was shot down while attempting to attack a nuclear power facility," noted Anokhin.

Tver region

Governor of Tver Region Igor Rudenya reported the repulsion of an attack involving 14 drones over the Toropets district of the region. No information about casualties or damage is available.

Bryansk region

Governor of Bryansk Region Alexander Bogomaz stated on his Telegram channel that air defense forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense intercepted and destroyed 26 aircraft-type drones, including 3 jet-powered ones.

"There are no casualties. Operational and emergency services are conducting area inspections," he reported.

Airport closures

At Kazan Airport, a Carpet plan was implemented due to the threat of a drone attack. Flight departures and arrivals were delayed. The restrictions have since been lifted.

Later, Rosaviatsiya reported that restrictions were also introduced at St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport due to the threat of a drone attack. Flights were delayed for both departures and arrivals at this airport as well.

Mass drone attacks on Russia

On the night of January 29, Russia was once again hit by a large-scale attack from strike drones.

Explosions were heard in the city of Kstovo, in the Nizhny Novgorod region. A large fire broke out at the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery.

On the night of January 24, Ukrainian special forces attacked the Ryazan oil refinery and the Ryazan oil pumping station with drones.

Two days later, strike drones caused a new fire at the Ryazan refinery. The plant suspended operations due to significant damage.
