Explosions heard in Ryazan: Russians complained about drone attack on oil refinery
On the night of January 26, explosions were heard over Ryazan, Russia. The Russians claim that unidentified drones once again attacked an oil refinery, which then caught fire, according to Russian Telegram channels.
According to residents who are subscribers of the channels, around 1 a.m. local time, explosions were heard in the Ryazan region. Specifically, there were about four explosions near the village of Dyatkovo and another 10 in the Pisochnia area, as reported by the Telegram channel Mash.
Later, footage began circulating online, capturing the explosions during the drone attack. There was no official information initially.
According to ASTRA, half an hour after the first explosions, loud sounds of explosions were heard directly in Ryazan. The Russians claimed that drones attempted to attack the oil refinery.
Around this time, the governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, responded to the situation. He began claiming that the drones had been shot down, there were no casualties, and the material damage was being assessed.
"With the help of air defense and electronic warfare systems, drones were destroyed over the Ryazan region. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties, and material damage is being assessed. All emergency services are working," he stated.
At the same time, Russians began publishing footage on channels showing a fire at the local oil refinery, as claimed.
Drone attack on the oil refinery in Ryazan
It should be noted that a few days ago, on the night of January 26, explosions were also heard in Ryazan. According to the Russians, unidentified drones once again attacked the local oil refinery. A fire broke out afterward.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Andriy Kovalenko, the head of the Central Defense Command, explained the importance of the Ryazan oil refinery. According to him, this refinery is one of the key facilities in Russia's oil industry and continues to operate despite sanctions. Kovalenko explained that the facility plays an important role in providing fuel for both the civilian and military-industrial sectors of Russia.
