Drones attack oil depot in Nizhny Novgorod region, causing fire
Explosions were heard in the city of Kstovo in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia on the night of January 29, amid reports of drone activity. Preliminary reports indicate that an oil refinery was struck, resulting in a fire, according to the local Telegram channels.
The explosions in the Kstovo area occurred after midnight. According to Russian media, residents of the city reported sightings of drones.
There were also reports on Russian networks about the operation of air defense systems in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
Later, footage emerged online showing a fire, allegedly at the "Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez" oil refinery located in Kstovo.
Monitoring channels suggest that this refinery might have been the target of the drone attack. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the facility was hit by drones.
The Telegram channel Mash, citing accounts from residents of Kstovo, reports that the air defense systems engaged several drones in the sky, and currently, a fire is visible in the area of the facility.

Local authorities responded to the strike
Later, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, stated on his Telegram that as a result of repelling the drone attack on the territory of one of the enterprises in the Kstovo industrial zone, drone fragments fell.
"Firefighters are currently dealing with the fire, and preliminary reports indicate that there are no casualties," the Russian official said.
