Russia reports drone attack on Moscow
In the Moscow region, Russia, air defense forces were active during the night of November 18 due to an aerial attack. Drone movement towards Moscow was reported, according to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.
According to the mayor of Russia’s capital, an attack by a drone heading towards Moscow was reportedly thwarted in the Ramensky urban district, located in the Moscow region, during the night.
“At the site of the wreckage, preliminary reports indicate no damage or casualties,” the statement reads.
Sobyanin also mentioned that emergency services specialists are working at the scene.
Later, footage emerged online showing the alleged moment of the drone's destruction in Ramenskoye.
According to the SHOT Telegram channel, residents of the city heard a powerful explosion around 3:40 a.m. local time.
Later, the mayor of Moscow announced that another drone had been shot down, this time in the Pavlovsky Posad district.
According to him, this drone was also heading toward Moscow.
Drone attack complaints were also reported in the Bryansk region on November 18
It should be noted that the Governor of the Bryansk Region, Alexander Bogomaz, also reported the activation of air defense forces during the night due to a drone attack. Meanwhile, local online communities in Bryansk reported powerful explosions in the region, particularly in the city of Bryansk.
According to the Russian official, 26 aircraft-type drones were reportedly shot down in the region. He did not provide any details about the possible consequences of the drone attack.
Drone attacks on Russia
A similar air attack using drones in Moscow was reported in Russia on the morning of November 10. At that time, the Carpet plan was implemented at Moscow's Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports. This plan is activated if there is a threat to aircraft or if the border of Russia has been breached.
Additionally, explosions were heard in Bryansk city on the night of November 10. Local media reported on the operation of air defense systems that allegedly intercepted drones. As a result of the explosions, a fire broke out in the city.
There was also information circulating online about a potential strike on one of the Russian military units - the 1060th Material and Technical Support Center of the Russian Armed Forces.
Additionally, on October 20, Russia reported a massive drone attack, including on Moscow. That night, air defense systems were activated across 8 regions of Russia due to the detection of drones. Explosions were heard, and fires broke out.
On November 15, it was reported that drones had attacked the Krasnodar Krai, with the target being the military airfield Krymsk.
