Drones attacked Krasnodar Krai at night, likely targeting airfield Krymsk
On the night of November 15, dozens of drones attacked the Krasnodar Krai. Russian authorities claim that the likely target was the military airfield Krymsk, according to Russian Telegram channels.
At 04:39 local time, the ASTRA channel reported that a drone had crashed into a private house in the village of Poltavskya in the Krasnodar region. The building sustained minor damage. This information was also confirmed by local media. It was claimed that the impact of the drone caused damage to an outbuilding.
Later, closer to 6 a.m. local time, Sergey Les, head of the Krymsky district in the Krasnodar region, stated that 46 drones had supposedly been destroyed overnight and that there were no casualties among the civilian population. However, he later deleted the post.
"The operational headquarters of the Krymsky district continues its work. During the night, 46 drones were neutralized over the district. There are no casualties among the civilian population. In two streets of the city - Lunnaia and Koltsevaia – areas where drone parts fell have been cordoned off. Rescuers and all emergency services are on-site," read the deleted post.
Soon after, Les reported that two municipalities in the region had been subjected to a large-scale drone attack overnight. Air defense systems allegedly intercepted several dozen drones in the Krymsky and Krasnoarmeysky districts.
In the Krymsky district, drone debris fell on the grounds of four residential properties. The roof of one house and a car were damaged, but no one was injured.
In the Krasnoarmeysky district, in the village of Poltavskya, drone debris also damaged the roof of a private house. In another house, windows were shattered. There were no casualties.
"Emergency services are working at the site of the incident. The heads of the districts are reporting on the current situation. An assessment of the material damage will be provided. Local authorities will assist with the restoration of the affected homes," the governor added.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 36 drones were shot down in the Krasnodar region, rather than the 46 claimed by the governor.
Drone attack on Russia
On October 20, Russia also reported a large-scale drone attack.
That night, air defense forces were active in several Russian regions due to the detection of drones, explosions were heard, and fires broke out. Drones were reportedly heading towards Moscow as well.
At that time, Russian authorities claimed to have repelled an air attack in at least eight regions.
